1.       Course description

"Semiconductor physics and devices" is an important professional basic course especially for micro-electronics. This course mainly introduces the basic physical properties of semiconductors, explore the physical process, which occurs in the semiconductor thermal equilibrium and non-equilibrium and related applications, the main contents include courses in semiconductor, electronic states in semiconductor impurity and defect levels, carrier distribution, the conductivity of the semiconductor, non-equilibrium the carrier and contact between metal and semiconductor, the operation principles of the basic devices upon which modern electronics is built.

Through the study of this course, the basic law of motion to understand and grasp the semiconductor carrier, grasp the calculation methods of semiconductor physics characteristics; to understand the basic working principle and characteristics of semiconductor devices, such as the pn junction, the bipolar transistor and especially the MOS transistor.
