  The Microcontroller (MCU) is an integrated circuit chip, which adopts a VLSI technology to have a central processing unit (CPU) with data processing capabilities, random access memory (RAM), read-only memory (ROM), various I/O ports and interrupt systems, timers/counters, etc. The MCU is a small and complete microcomputer system that is widely used in industrial control. On the basis of concise introduction to the principle of Microcontroller, this course introduces the application technology of MCU in detail with abundant examples. The theoretical and experimental teaching process of this course is based on the popular Arduino platform. Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs (light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message) and turn it into an output, activating a motor, turning on an LED or publishing something online.

  

  Learning this course requires only a simple knowledge of circuit theory and C language. The course contents are simple and easy to understand, and there are plenty of examples. Through this course, you will learn to use Arduino to accomplish the following things:

  (a) Controlling the LED display, LCD display and buzzer.

  

  (b) Interacting with sensors such as temperature, ultrasonic, and touch screen.

  

  (c) Driving the DC motor and the stepping motor.

  

  (d) Building a RFID card reader.

  

  (e) Achieving interconnection with the network modules.

  

  Through the practice of the course examples, you will be able to use Arduino to realize your ideas and creativity.
